Puerto Penasco this October

October 24, 2011 @ 9:59 am posted by Moss

The weather was amazing this trip. We just discovered this awesome new business near cholla bay call Wrecked at the Reef, Theres 2 of the restaurants in the Rocky Point Area the other one is located in Old Port. Its a very fun place to visit featuring live music on the weekends starting Thursday.

Playa bonita was also a pretty nice place to eat then get into the warm blue ocean water. The hotel right next door didn’t even mind us using there pool on one very hot day during our trip in June. And great wifi reception a Playa Bonita got some Skype calls in. Lastly before leaving town don’t for get to hit the Tequila Store on  Benito Juarez great service and samples with Fernando. He’ll serve some great samples   including the flavored tequilas and liquors. You’ll leave happy. All in all Puerto Penasco is highly recommended. Great for families and students many come for Spring Break from ASU.

Godaddy Auto Renewal Scam Alert

October 20, 2011 @ 10:37 am posted by Moss

Watch out for what you sign up for on Godaddy.com  My experience with them was trying to bid on a domain name that was supposed to become available so they said that I would need to get some domain bidding/alert type thing with them and later when it was unsuccessful at bidding on the domain name they didn’t notify me about it and kept my $20 even though they did nothing. A year passed and come to find out it is on auto renewal and they want to bill me for another $20 for doing nothing. I have over 40 domains with them and am looking for a new company any suggestions?

Sublime BadFish Live

November 8, 2010 @ 12:40 pm posted by Moss

Sunday 11.7.10 Sublime played in Santa Cruz California at the Catalyst. Was a good show because I have never seen them live and always wanted to. Even though it was with new band members it was still super fun. Some ticket hustlers (scalpers) didnt like that the show didn’t sell out but that was partly due to the ticket price being $50/ea and they played two nights in a row. Sunday was a 21 and up show and Monday was for 16 and up.

Santa Cruz Homeless Community Alive and Restless

Wells Fargo Parking Lot in Santa Cruz

This past weekend the homeless were camped out at the Wells Fargo in Santa Cruz. Some brought their own tents others slept in the spacious back entry way. Some park their vehicles and sleep in them. As the picture shows the landscaping is very nice and the homeless feel very comfortable here.

As pretty as the picture is shown here sometimes the homeless get restless regardless of the setting. A fight broke out down the street from here this past Holloween weekend when a bunch of homeless were hanging out across from the Greyhound in downtown Santa Cruz only a short walk from the Wells Fargo Campsite. It was noted that one the the homeless screamed “he stole my Pipe” it may have been in reference to drug paraphernalia such as a “crack pipe”. A good Samaritan was driving in a late model Jeep and pulled over and yelled at the homeless to stop fighting and not to move he was yelling not only at the ones fighting but the ones that were jeering as well. The good Samaritan was a big guy with a loud voice so everyone heard him,he instructed his passenger to call 911. The Police showed up rather quickly I was impressed. Anyway i took off at that point so you will have to google the rest of the story to find out if charges were filed and if any major injuries occured.

Britecom.net introduces new Blog Site

October 25, 2010 @ 11:31 am posted by Moss

Britecom just launched a new blog site today. The goal is to cover topics important to the Fiber Optic Insdustry.

“Obama Administration Grants Funding to Provide Fiber-Optic Services in California

The Obama administration has granted a $46.6 million fund that will aid in providing Internet, phone and broadband access to underserved or unserved areas. The funding will help in expanding the wireless broadband and fiber-optic services from Yuba City to the city of Bakersfield, through Sierra Nevada.

The grant will help rural communities to catch up with communities that have high speed internet access. The Central Valley Independent Network, a consortium of independent phone companies, will utilize the funding to develop a 1,371 mile optical fiber network in California. Nearly half of the network has already been constructed. The network will offer high-speed Internet access to nearly 18 counties of California, from Colusa County in the north to Kern County in the south.

The funding will also be used to pay for 12 wireless nodes in order to offer broadband services to Kern, Tulare, Kings, Fresno, and other such remote Counties. It will also bolster 350 mobile phone towers in the area to provide wireless access for the people.”
